Digital Content not installing

Hi, having issues w/installing a digital copy of a game I purchased off the marketplace last night. When I first purchased it the installation process got to 23% and then restarted and the 2nd time the process got to about 1% and then stopped and in the
last 12 hours it hasn't even started installing. I checked my storage and it's fine(about 61% full) and tested my internet connection and everything's working properly.

My download speed: 8.11Mbps

Upload speed: 4.31Mbps

Ping: 88ms

Please help!

Has it been confirmed yet that you can install content from a disc and it will use the same data if you go digital or must you download the digital version in its entirety?

Yes the exact method was not detailed as they just said cloud but all games are on the digital store / in the cloud. If you buy a game from retail you get a cd key and when you place the disk in the drive you can either unlock the content with a cd key or buy a licence from the store. Both ways give you the same content installed to your hdd as digital content and you do not the disk once installed.

Go to a friends house and your gamer tag is associated with all digital content (which includes your retail purchase) and they can be installed and played on any console while you are signed in.

If he wants the game you have but has bandwidth limits or similar he could have borrowed your disk to install then either just play with you when you are there unlocking that content or buy a license and not need to download.

For actual "lending" there was the family share option, which was never officially explained more than a paragraph or so, so we cannot be sure if it was a golden carrot or a poisoned one.

The retail disk was a digital license with install media not a traditional disk copy. It was sell able under certain conditions which normal digital content / licenses are not, this was never fully detailed but what they said was major 2nd hand retailers could revoke your digital license as you sell / trade it, make a new unique licence and resell that content.

For the resale to work you need a drm check hence 24hr checks as that is when your 2nd hand sales would be removed from your digital license list.

The playing a game on any random xbox one required a 1hr check in so when you leave you don't leave your entire game library available.

Xbox wire still has the original license info page up that explains the high level idea of how it works.

I'm having the exact same problem. Installation is stuck on 19% and I have turned off my console, unplugged the power AND unplugged the network cable. I purchased this system today and I'm already having problems with it before I even play a single game.

Hi Schalk T, my name is Daniel and I would be happy to help.

From what I understand, when you try to install a game it stops, what is not very clear to me is whether it stops in the download or in the direct installation. Since if it is in the download it is possible that it is a problem with the Internet and the solution would be the following:

One of the options is to contact your ISP which is the internet provider to get a little more help with this problem in case the error is with the download, the second temporary option is to use your phone as a mobile access point, that is, share the internet with the console and try to install the game again.

In case the problem is not with the download since the game is downloaded but rather with the installation of the game, you may need to restore your console to eliminate any corrupt files that are in the system, you must select the Keep my files option. games and applications so that no data is deleted. Follow these steps:

1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
2. Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console information > Reset console.
3. Select Reset and keep my games and apps. This will reset the operating system and remove all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps.

Note: You only have to remember your credentials to log in to your account again.

If you have purchased the digital content, then you should be able to re-install that content, and retain access to that content without any issues.

Hello Chaos,

Sorry for the issue with your game. Try uninstalling the game and DLC completely and install it from the disk.
Have you made sure all the DLC content is installed? Also, if you installed all the content digitally, why do you own a disc? This may be causing the issue. Since you have all of it installed digital, if it is just the normal game not legendary. For
example The disc license is for legendary, the digital license is for the regular game.

Digital content is tied to your account, so once you've redeemed a code you no longer need the code to redownload the content. Everything will be listed as ready to install in your games and apps.
