    Different firmware update for the same controller


    Hello everyone,

    I have 4 Xbox One V3 controllers (version 1708).

    On 3 of them, I was able to update the firmware via Xbox Accessories to version 4.8.1923.0.

    The latest version that the software offers me (No update available after).



    On the last one that I received today, I want to update it, surprise, version 5.11.3118.0.

    More recent, the "update box' is not available.



    However, it is the same Hardware (1708), same model number, same controller, ...



    Do you have an idea ?

    controller software update?

    It is just a firmware (software) update to improve/add functionality or patch issues the controller might have. Updating a controller is really not different than updating any other device.

    The controller will have an update occasionally.

    Hi

    A controller made by Afterglow will probably not use the same firmware a regular Xbox One controllers. Any questions about if the controller requires a firmware update and how to carry out the update will probably need to be directed to Afterglow.

    HI Nomanian,

    Controller disconnecting is a common issue with controllers that do not have updated firmware. Usually the light will go off all together. This is fixed with the firmware update. The controller is also designed to shut off after 5 minutes of inactivity.
    If it's in use, you've updated the firmware, and you have good batteries there may be an issue with the controller that is not resolved with a firmware update. I'm confused on your statement as you say it did not have an update, but then you said you update
    it regularly. Xbox controller updates are different than regular console updates. See links below.

    Same with me. I have artic 9x. Update the firmware for the headset (connect to comp and search for firmware update). Once I did that all controller issues resolved.
