Did the patch for the GwG version go online in North America yet?

Well this would explain why I have not seen any messages on the ground. Should have known something was fishy when the game did not update upon launch. It seems this digital version was added just for the GwW promotion, so it looks like they have some bugs
to iron out.

Hoping this is fixed fast as I am itching to play this game with my friend.

Side note: Aside from this update bug, has anyone noticed swapping the target lock on the digital copy doesn't always work? I've played this game a fair bit on PC and never seen this issue.

Europe is getting Fifa, What about America?

I don't care either way don't plan to get either console at launch lol but im guessing the free game for America if they give it to north America is Perfect Dark Zero(lol I know it was a 360 launch title but given their track record with the GwG program
this would seem to fit their modus operandi)

 

Append: Did some research into the game's patch history and found that the targeting system was in fact altered in one of the later patches (1.05 to be specific).

 

Dark Souls has been a Game on Demand for some time now. They just recently re-released it for what I'm assuming was because Games with Gold. The earlier GoD version worked fine.

 

Newest patch is 1.06 and no its not released yet. I got a new character I want to co-op with at undead perish (LVL 17 with Gravelord Sword +2 and +9 pyro) and cant seem to find ANYONE. So until update is released I am forced to wait. As a test I used my
nephews spare disc, it updates and I was invaded about 30 sec. into undead perish and coming to the bonefire seen 3 summon signs. My nephew bought the ON DEMAND version a couple of months ago and he deleted his update and it forced his ON DEMAND version to
update. SO it seems to only be the Games with Gold version that won't update.

 

EDIT: after contacting both Xbox support and an hour and half battle they talked to management and told me, That Games with Gold and From Software made a deal and only the OFFLINE mode would be up for download, and that its multiplayer isn't meant to be
used. After grilling them further found out that there is no future intention to update it to allow further multiplayer. So basically they told me I'm ***, SO if I want multiplayer I guess I have to get a disc based DS or Pay for the ON DEMAND version.

 

Thats bull, why would microsoft make it so you can't update a Games for Gold release that pretty much breaks the game entirely. If this is true then I want a new free game that isn't BROKEN!!!!!!

 

^ I actually agree or since they disabled online, at least allow us to get the updates for the game.

 

This makes me upset. I was getting pretty far into the game, I was playing my friend's disk, and he wanted it back. I figured since Dark Souls was free with GWG, it wouldn't matter. Now I have a huge urge to play Dark Souls, but can't load my saves due to
this. Waste of a GWG, they should compensate us if they plan to give us a broken game. Now I have to shell out 20 bucks to play a game I already have.

 

I found something read the post By GalaKnight on page 2 In my opinion I believe both statements have a 50/50 chance of being correct anyway I'm really hoping that this one is 100% correct though

I sent in an inquiry to From Software, I will post the reply if there is one on here as soon as I receive it. If there is no reply then I guess we will have to see if there isn't another channel of communication to take then like GalaKnight did

 

Can anyone get on with the DISC version? I've tried both recently (today) and I'm not seeing anything in the disc version either. I even moved the GwG version off my console and tried and still no go...Barely any messages...no summons.

Also, isn't the 1.05 patch required to do the AotA DLC...which they advertise RIGHT NEXT TO the GwG promo?

 

Yes the patch is required for the DLC to work otherwise it just sits there an does nothing for you. I do believe there was a post about this in a different thread, can't find the link though.

 

This is laughable if true.

The game is based around the multiplayer-single player hybrid it offers and you give a broken unplayable version?

At least PVE is good but dear god, an unpatched glitchy mess that is incompatible with the DLC and cannot play the hybrid gameplay the series is known for.
