    Did a recent update break HDMI connectivity?


    Having an issue with my original Xbox One from 2015. MS Support told me to ask you guys here.

    Xbox One worked on Friday. On Saturday, I unplugged it and put it in a car and drove with it in for four hours. It was unharmed and undamaged the entire trip. On Monday, I plugged it into a monitor in its new home and HDMI display is no longer working.

    I have tried two monitors and two HDMI cables so the problem is with the Xbox itself.

    Either the HDMI port was damaged in transit somehow, or Xbox Insider pushed an update this weekend that broke my dislpay (Customer Service rep floated this idea to me, it had not occurred to me).

    Does anyone have an insight here? Was there even an update this weekend? Has anyone experienced similar issues with HDMI after moving the device?

    XBOX One breaks HDMI control with Pioneer system

    I should mention that the XBOX One breaks the HDMI control just by being connected to the receiver. Even with the Xbox off, it still breaks the HDMI control of the other components.

    I tried the same thing, with hdmi and fiber optic, but i get no sound from my subwoofer, so games sound tinny and pretty ****.... I got full surround with HDMI before the most recent update, something they did killed it (for my system, anyways which has

    Hi there - did you recently upgrade? If so, can you try running a network connection test? That should update it :)

    Thanks for the extra information and the update. That is odd, maybe was just a temporary problem with the HDMI connection

    Did you tried switching the ports again to see if the issue appears again?
