I'm trying to register my Xbox controller, but when I enter the serial number it says it's not recognized. I have tried to find an email to contact technical support but the help redirects me to these forums. I don't know what to do to register the controller!!

I'm afraid the only place to register a controller is support.microsoft.com/devices

Hello,

I've looked up where to find the serial number on the website, so I'm pretty sure I'm entering it correctly.

The problem is that I don't have an XBox. I use the controller on my PC. Is there a way to connect it via PC?

I'm triying to register in that web, but does not reconize the serial number. Is mandatory to connect the controller to an X-box before regiter it?

Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

Here's an excerpt from the controller replacement support page;

- Controller serial numbers are 14 characters long and don’t include dashes.

- Your controller serial number may not be recognized if you’ve never connected your controller, or if you connected for the first time within the last 48 hours.

- If you have the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, the 14-character serial number is in the lower center on the back of the controller.

Also make sure you're not typing O as 0 or 1 as I etc.

I feel their is an issue with the site itself. I've tried Firefox & Edge browser. The site loads to a faulty page with the below statement:

Invalid parameters received during the scan. Expected CID, CSN, asset and code parameters for a scan to work successfully.
