    Greetings Community. I'm looking for a solution to an issue on my Xbox One X.

    My Dev Mode Activation is stuck on "Almost there. You are almost ready for development, but first we need to update your Xbox. After the update, come back to this app and you'll be able to switch to developer mode." It's been this way for months, and no updates have ever come down.

    - I have gone to "Manage app" and have found no updates available for the app. Version 1.1.1703.14

    - I have uninstalled and re-installed

    - I have checked the Xbox and there are no updates pending. OS version 10.0.19041.5496

    Does anyone have a FIX...not a 'work-around' for this issue? Clearly this is not how is it intended to function. It seems like something is not registering the app the Xbox registry.

    Please Note, I am aware of the controller work around and I can reach the emulator through this "Hidden Menu": To access the hidden menu go to Settings > System > Console Info > Press LB RB LT RT > Developer Settings > Developer Mode

    Yes. This works, but a purchased app should not ONLY be accessible from a secret hidden menu with a secret handshake all the while telling you to wait for an update.

    Developer Mode Stopped working after latest Xbox Update

    After the update for Xbox, (08/27/20) I went to switch over to Dev Mode yesterday on my Xbox One X and suddenly got the following message:

    ...................................................................................................

    Almost there

    You're almost ready for development, but first we need to update your Xbox. After the update, come back to this app and you'll be able to switch to developer mode.

    ...................................................................................................

    The Xbox is already updated and there is plenty of room for the app as well.

    Thanks for any help or insight.

    Am I going about Dev mode wrong?

    emulators are not allowed on Xbox except as part of official, commercial products like Rare Replay. if you are not actively developing software, which you are not, you're not allowed to use a dev mode. Using dev mode to run pirate software can lead to account and hardware bans.

    I understand that but using dev kits are risky that could end up with a boot loop or a bricked console I'm not sure if you're aware that some malicious people were installing homebrews and unauthorized emulators through the dev mode when the dev mode's
    sole purpose is to develop legit games and apps for the Xbox one if you ask me how I'm aware of that look at YouTube videos these are spreading like wildfire on dry wood I'm reporting this like any gamer cause I'm just a gamer i did download the dev mode activation
    app as soon as i saw the steps and knowing there is a fee for signing an account with Windows or something i uninstalled it in disregard or on second thought without enabling the dev kit or anything but i don't what to do with the app its gonna be on the ready
    to install list which I'm not going to touch just hide it since I own the app it was free of course but i just ain't using it
