Destiny Rise of Iron issue

I'm having the same issue, tried all avenues to pre-order. even in store it failed to connect to get a code. anyone found a work-around? or have an update?

Can you please double check your
Microsoft Commerce account and confirm that you own Destiny and all expansions. And if you are trying to purchase on your Xbox One, please be sure to try the purchase on the website.

preordered from Gamestop, tried to redeem the download code, redeemed as currency not as a the DLC, cannot apply the currency to the Rise of Iron "Digital download" that i purchased.

You can't pre-order. Gamestop pre-order is flat out false advertisement. I even got an email confirming my preorder... Got one today that said "rise of iron is available for download."

Went to redeem the code.. Got 30 dollar gift card. Cant use the gift card towards rise of iron. Won't be getting pre-order bonus items. Why is this practice OK?

I too was bitten by this. Is it magically going to download for us tomorrow? Or are we just stuck with this $30 credit and no download or pre-order bonus?

I bought the game stop pre order tgat turned out to be just $30. I then went to the Destiny Rise of Iron page on Microsoft Store the pre order button was greed out. I then logged in when I did it turned blue and was able to click on it to order. I didn't
order it but went an redeemed my gamestop code for the $30 to deposit my money once it was in my Microsoft account I went back to the pre order and selected to use my account balance which it did.

So make sure you redeem your gamestop code into your Microsoft account then go to or put in the search are destiny rise of iron pre order. You must select the one for pre order. If you select just the rise of iron it will take you to a different page tgat
says bundle only. Once at the pre order if logged in and you have the other content for the game on x box one not 360 as its not available for it, the pre order button will be blue to click on and pay for by you account balance or with credit card.

I know this question has been answered, but the pre-order link was grayed out for me. I've been stomped about this, until now. If you are still stuck and want to pre-order before the release, the best way was THROUGH THE GAME. When you click on the Rise
of Iron symbol on the Destiny Navigation screen, you'll have an option to 'Redeem Code" or "Purchase." The pre-order bonuses downloaded right after I purchased. Hope this helps folks that were still stuck like me still.

Store says it's only available in a bundle

Hey everyone!

In order to purchase Rise of Iron, you need to own ALL previous expansions for Destiny on the account that is purchasing Rise of Iron. This means that if another account owns a piece of DLC that is being shared via Home console, you would not be able to
purchase Rise of Iron without either buying the previous DLC or purchasing the bundle.

I seem to be getting something different.

I can't easily find "Destiny: Rise of Iron" in the store pages without doing a manual search for "Rise of Iron".

I get an add-on page for ROI, but there's no purchase/pre-order options. There's only a message that says "(!) Destiny: Rise of Iron is currently not available."

In order to purchase Destiny: Rise of Iron you must make sure your account which is trying to purchase Rise of Iron owns Destiny: The Taken King. That is required to be able to purchase Rise of Iron.

Now if you have finished that step then you have a few methods of which you can buy the DLC:

1. You can sign into your account via this link here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/destiny-rise-of-iron-pre-order/c3tbg0pc3fc9 and buy the DLC

Or

2. Launch your game and under the director select the icon for Rise of Iron and select purchase and try to purchase the DLC.

Now you also could try searing the Store on your Xbox One for "Destiny: Rise of Iron" but if you do make sure it says "Pre-Order" otherwise you will run into the issue of it stating it can only be bought in a bundle.
