Destiny 2 Witch Queen Deluxe pack purchased on wrong gamer account - what now?

Hey team. I have an Xbox Series X. I have a family established with myself being the primary and my son's xbox account (different email address) as a child.

My son was logged in on my account when he purchase Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Deluxe edition. Unfortunately, that means his characters when he plays on his account, don't have access to some of the extra content (seasons) that the deluxe edition provides. At least, this is what I am understanding.

How can I go about moving the game (purchased back in March?) over to his account? How can his account access the latest season?

Nothing can be transferred between accounts. Unfortunately you would have had to request a refund when it was first purchased and then repurchase it on the correct account. Since it's been so long, that would no longer be possible.

So the content is playable on the xbox by all users, the "Season" content, however, is only playable by the purchaser? Did I get that correct?

It's how Bungie allows sharing to be done. They consider the season passes to be in-game content which isn't shareable.

I'm also curious why the purchased content is not available to all accounts in the family? Is that not normally a thing, or am I going about this the wrong way?

What I advise you to do, is to wait for The Witch Queen Deluxe purchase to be finalized, and when it completes, ask for the refund on the Bungie 30th Anniversary Bundle.
