Destiny 2 freezes and shuts off Series X

-It's been 21 days since the Next Gen update and Destiny 2 is still freezing and turning my Series X off. At first it was just in Crucible, but PvE was playable for 5+ hours. Now, it happens about 10 minutes into any activity. The screen freezes, party chat stays active for 20 seconds and then my console turns off completely. I had no problems prior to the update and my friend, with the exact same setup, has had no issues before or after the update.

Just to clarify:

1. 
   This does not occur while playing any other game.
   
   
2. 
   My Xbox is very well ventilated.
   
   
3. 
   I have "reset the cache" numerous times.
   
   
4. 
   I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times.
   
   
5. 
   I have done 2 factory resets.
   
   
6. 
   I have swapped out 3 HDMI cables and tried it on 2 different monitors.
   
   
7. 
   I have downloaded the Xbox Insider Omega update.
   
   
8. 
   I have plugged directly into a wall outlet.
   
   
9. 
   I have used 3 different internet connections.
   
   
10. 
    I have turned off and on HDR, VVR, 4K, HDMI-CEC and Instant-on.
    
    
11. 
    I have disconnected my external hard drive.
    
    
12. 
    I have "turned off" Game Share.
    
    
13. 
    I have used a new power cable.
    

• I spent 45 minutes with Microsoft Support and after telling them everything that I had done to troubleshoot the problem, they told me that the issue is not hardware related and directed me to the Bungie "Known Issues" page, which doesn't mention anything about this issue.

-With all that being said, is it possible that I have a faulty console? Absolutely. However, I know that I'm not the only Xbox X|S player with this problem and I have heard that Playstation users are experiencing the same thing.

• What the hell do I do at this point? Keep a $500 Youtube machine and hope it's a software fix or send it to Microsoft and wait 3 weeks?
