Destiny 2 "Clear some space on Internal storage" Error

When I tried to use my Series X today, I noticed a potentially major error. Destiny 2 is currently undergoing maintenance for a new update that launches tomorrow. At the same time, the developer is allowing players to preload the update. That's where I've hit a snag. I don't currently have enough space on my internal hard drive. Clearing space would normally be possible, but it isn't today.

As soon as I turned my console on, I was bombarded with the "Clear some space on Internal storage" error. The error code is 0x80070070. It gives me two options. The first is to "Free Up Space". The latter is "Cancel". Selecting the former brings up My Games and Apps... for 5 seconds. Choosing the latter displays the main menu... for 5 seconds. Either way, the same error pops back up regardless. I've tried hard rebooting my console 3 times. I tried calling Xbox Support. Support wanted to factory reset my console, but I can't do that since I can't reach Settings before the error pops back up. Support told me to get my console to a repair center or pay $300.00 to send it in (out of warranty). My console worked fine yesterday. I think something tied to this particular update is causing this problem. Any assistance is appreciated. At this point, I can't use my console.
