demoting a family account from organiser to member

Thanks for reaching out to us, The most easiest way is to remove that family member from the family account and then re-add them as a child account in order to limit screen time. You'll want to go to https://account.microsoft.com/family/ then choose
"More Options" on the right hand side of the "App and game limits", it will show a sub-menu which has option to "Remove from Family group".

To make things a bit easier, Xbox recently created the Xbox Family app to make it easier to set rules, restrictions, and anything else you'd like to change. I'll post a link below to help you access the application and make these changes easier
once everything has been set up on the app.

Are you the organiser of the family group? Can you try doing it from the organiser account?

Hi thank you for the reply but I want to be able to set a screen time limit on the family organisers account as this is the one my child uses on the Xbox NOT on a family members account.

As my child was also an organiser of the family I had to sign in to their profile and could change their settings on their login. Despite being a child if they’re an organiser it disables parent functions. So anyway I got it working but that’s not the best security feature.

Thanks perhaps as you say removing the account from the family and re-adding them as a member may fix that too.
