deleting cloud games

I have a game on my xbox that I want to start over with. I go in like I always do and delete the saved game to start a new one, but when I reopen the game, it takes me right back to where I left off. It does not give me the option to delete from the cloud. What do I need to do to delete this saved game to where I can start completely over?

Ok, I understand.

That depends on whether the console has already synchronized the deleted game to the cloud.

If the console hasn't deleted the game save from the cloud yet, the game sync with the save file in the cloud automatically. When you start the game, it'll download the save from the cloud.

If the game save however is gone in the cloud as well, then there is currently no way to get it back again.

If you went to Menu > Manage Games > Saves > Delete Save Data > “Delete Everywhere“, it's deleted from the cloud and can't be recovered.

You can't delete cloud content, but if you delete something from your console it will be also deleted in the cloud.

Here are the steps you can follow to delete game progress on both the console and cloud:
1. Go to My games & apps, can be found on Home.
2. Select Games.
3. Highlight the game you want to delete the data for and click for more options.
4. Select Manage game and add-ons.
5. Select Saved data.
6. Do not "DELETE ALL". Instead select the Progress you want to delete and press A, usually displays as the profile name.

You CAN actually delete your save game data locally on your xbox and leave it in the cloud. Go to your games/apps section in dashboard and go to the game in question. There are options to delete the local save game data and save game data in the cloud. You
can delete local data or delete local and cloud data.
