Deleting A Closed Account

I'm
currently having a bit of an issue with a profile on my Xbox Friends list. I was friends with a profile named "Trophy" and eventually that profile was closed down. However, the profile still exists on my Friends list but I can't get to it to see it and delete
or block it. When on the companion app for the phone, I can see it and it's labeled as "Unknown". Unfortunately, any attempts to block or delete it don't work at all. I've also tried updating my Xbox and that didn't work either. Is there any way to fix this
and remove the profile from my Friends list?

I've had this happen and eventually the system will catch up and they'll be removed from the list.

Hmm the only way you can really delete a gamertag is by closeing the account assoicated with the account. I think that the only way you can get close to delete a gamertag i could be wrong.

Here are the steps for deleting an xbox live account.

It's it's simply a windows live account (not an xbox acount) try this guide

I'm sorry to hear you wish to delete your account, however Microsoft has no way to delete delete the account. You can however can close the account by visiting account.Live.com and logging in with your Microsoft (Xbox) account and clicking on close account.
However, being this doesn't delete the account, it will make it so you can not use the email again to create a new account and you will not be able to use the gamertag again, as they will both still exist, they just can not be accessed.

delete your personal information associated with your Xbox profile and Microsoft account but you are not able to actually delete the account without deleting your Microsoft account.

Note To delete your Xbox profile and surrender your gamertag, you'd need to close your Microsoft account. There's no way to close your account while keeping your Xbox profile or gamertag. For instruction and related considerations,
