Deleted my Microsoft account, but my Gamertag (Xbox account) is still visible to others.

Hi!

A few weeks ago I decided to delete my Microsoft account, I know this was successful as I am now prompted to make a new Microsoft account when entering the E-Mail that was used with my previous account. However, when I type in the Gamertag I can still see it's up, this is 100% my account as it has my profile picture and all of the gaming clips I'd recorded still on the profile.

I've tried recovering the account, creating a new account with the same e-mail, trying numerous e-mails to see if that account was somehow linked to another. Nothing. When I requested the Microsoft account deletion, I was under the assumption that my data would be deleted too, now I am left with an Xbox account that is still up and publicly available, yet I'm unable to access it ever again. Is this some kind of glitch, and if so is there anywhere I can elevate this to get the issue resolved?

When you close a Microsoft account, they wait 60 days before permanently deleting it in case you change your mind. So it's normal to still see your Xbox account at the moment because it hasn't been deleted yet.

That's the thing, the Microsoft account is deleted since I can no longer recover it (entering the e-mail tells me that there are no accounts under that e-mail). Yet my Xbox account is still visible, is this normal?

When prompted with the 60 or 30 days til deletion, I chose 30 days. It's been over 30 days for sure, but maybe not 60.

yes you can move your xbox live account on the new 8.1 account, now you would need you delete the xbox live account on the 8.1 account to put the one with more G points on the computer account

I apologize, but your question is not clear to me. Regarding my knowledge of the Xbox world, you can change your gamertag. When you modify it, the new one will replace the old one and won't be visible anymore. If, however, you mean to completely delete a gamertag associated with your account, I believe there might be no other solution than to delete your account as well.

a xbox live account can not be deleted from your Microsoft Account, you can only move it to another Microsoft Account (and if needed Close that Microsoft Account).
