Deleted e-mail account caused a gamertag issue

I understand your frustration, but unfortunately it is not possible for you to recover your old gamertag, unless there is a system update and it really ceases to exist.

I say this because the system recognizes that it is already in use, and you cannot use a gamertag that already exists.

They'll either post your post to that forum with a response, or they'll delete it and send you an e-mail to the e-mail account attached to your gamertag.

Have you tried to sign into that gamertag using the email and password to the e-mail you deleted and then switch the e-mail address of that gamertag?

It's not possible to "delete" an account from Microsoft's servers in the traditional sense. If you have personal information on the account you can request it be deleted from the account but the gamertag that's associated with the e-mail cannot be deleted.

If you need to change your e-mail so this specific e-mail attached to this account is usable again then please follow the directions
here to change the e-mail associated with the account.

You can ring support and request a P.I. Removal for your new account but this is an escelated process and can take time. The easy and quick way is to recover this account (your new one) on the console and actually make a new hotmail account from the P.c.

This will be a dummy e-mail e.g. *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** then you Change this dummy E-mail with the one for your new gamertag which will free the E-mail on there now and the its a simple swap with your main Gamertags old E-mail and the one you have freed from
This gamertag. Once this is done Delete this Gamertag from the console and never look back...
