Deleted account on accident

My son deleted the account on the Xbox. Now it asks for the guest key when when we try to "add new" or sign in. We entered what we thought was the guest key, but it's not working. How do I get the account back on the xbox?

That's odd because there seems to be no account logged in. Kindly perform a reset on your console keeping your games and apps. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

Hi TeraStarrett, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

The guest key is not required when just entering a new account. Kindly perform a powercycle before re-adding an account.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

ADD ACCOUNT

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select your gamerpic in the upper-left corner of the screen, move all the way down and select Add new.

3. Enter the Email address and the password.

4. Read the Microsoft Service Agreement and Privacy Statement, and then select I Accept.

5. Follow the steps to configure your Sign-In & Security preferences to add your Microsoft account to your Xbox console.

Xbox accounts cannot be deleted. However if he removed it from the console you would just need to log in with the appropriate email address and password.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, our gamer puc is gone. All that is there is a generic person. When you select add new, it asks for the guest key.

But now he's done something else. Please help.

Tried to link the account. Then saw a thing for supportive creator. Tried to activate something 2x so no one can hack the account. Didn't mean to do that. So got out of it. And had to sign in again and was asked for a code that was sent to my email. Which he doesn't have access to. So hit skip sign in. And now his account name is there but all of his stuff is gone and there's a default skin in place.

How do we get his stuff back? Please help this mom!
