Delete MS account or change gamertag

So my kid created an MS account and used his real name in his gamertag. I tried to change it and MS wants to charge $10. So then I tried just closing down his account and it won't close it for 30 days. This whole thing seems like a joke. There must be a way to fix this without creating a brand new gmail account and creating a new MS account based on that

Hello jhkjhsalkjdhakjsd, if the account that your child created is empty and has no purchase of digital products, you can close the account, but as you yourself saw the system takes 30 days to permanently close the account, this is in case the account owner changes his mind.

Another tip, if you close this account and create a new one, don't do it with an existing Gmail email, create a Zero account at Microsoft, this can help you avoid future account sign-in and account recovery issues if you lose your Gmail account.

If you decide to keep the current account, you will really have to pay $10 for the gamertag change.

Gamertags can't be deleted. You could change your current gamertag to something else, then have another MS account and change it to the original gamertag. However, you would still be faced with paying the gamertag change fee for the original account which
is what I believe you are wanting to avoid.

you cannot delete an account

delete it from your HD and move on

nothing can be transfered between accounts

if you want to delete it so you can reuse the name

thats easy

buy ms points and rename the account to whatever name

then change the name of the new account voila

well you have to buy enough ms points for both accounts

800 ms points cheaper online at xbox.com as you can buy 1000 ms points depending on your region then buy it on both account and that should pay for the gamertag change for both and no ms points cannot be transfered

Hey mate, unfortunately there is no way to delete a gamertag. if you would like to change the MS account (email) associated with your account please see the steps here:

Thats only deletes your ms account but not an xbox account

Yiou can delete it from your hd and forget about it

Or If yiou want the name you have to pay for a gamertag change to free its then another to use it only the New account
