Dealing with customer support. TV will not recognise Xbox one and other issues.

I have the following issues with my Xbox one:

- It will not connect to the TV ( I have tried all recommended fixes) most likely HDMI port is broken

- It will not turn off

- It will not sinc with any controllers

After phoning customer support I have been told I need to pay to have the console serviced, which will cost me £150.

I have had my old xbox 360 fixed twice (with expired warrenty) for free. I have been a loyal xbox customer for 11 years and cannot believe I am expected to pay such a large sum of money.

I have heard some people have had success in dealing with the phone drones at xbox customer support and managed to sort free or reduced cost repairs. My question is how?

I am able to get a refurbished PS4 for the same price as an xbox repair. With the upcoming playstation releases I am seriously considering jumping ship. Last ditch attempt at solving this. Help!

paypal accounts must be from the same country as the xbox live account

when dealing with billing issues its best to call customer support

Apparently other people are having this issue. Nothing wrong with my TV aspect ratio. This guy at Xbox Support told me that X1 is designed to automatically figure out your aspect ratio, but mine has got it wrong lmfao. Now transferred me to someone else and I'm on hold. Hopefully I'll get it resolved soon.

It's really great that you were able to get your older console repaired out of warranty! That was of course a choice that the customer rep didn't have to do and unfortunately should not be expected every time. I do know Sony would do the same thing in terms
of price on an out of warranty system.

If it is not under warranty and you want it repaired then you will have to pay to have it done. No one in the forums can do anything about that.

Have you tried performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in
and restart the console.

Also be sure to try different HDMI ports on the TV, a different TC and/or different cable.

No response attempting hard reset. Pressing the power button does nothing. Not even the little jingle sound. Yanking the power cable is the only way to kill it

Guess if I want it fixed cheaper I will have to look for an independant company that does repairs. Disapointed there is no talking to the customer service guys. Guess I got lucky. Thought it was standard practice to have some level of negotiation

This is seperate issue, xbox back up and running on different tv, however the tv tv that my xbox was plugged into at time of outage now will not recognise the xbox. Says no signal on that source
