    Dead Cell crashes when selecting my save file and is unplayable


    I launch the game, but when I hit play on my main save file the game crashes and shows this error:

    - I do not use Gitlab Runner as far as I know.

    - I tried reinstalling the game but it didn't work.

    - The error comes up only in my main save file. I tried creating a new file and it worked just fine.

    - The error appeared after I saved my main file on a DLC map. I had no problem playing the DLCs before and didn't have any problems playing the game at all.

    - I do not connect any drive at my pc.

    - I have a D drive, but the game is installed somewhere else. I tried reinstalling it on the C drive (main) but it didn't work either.

    - The game is installed from the Xbox app.

    - There is no error when playing other Xbox app games.

    Based on the error message you provided, it seems like there might be an issue with the save file itself. Since you mentioned that creating a new save file works fine, it's possible that the issue is isolated to that specific save file.



    One thing you can try is to delete the problematic save file and see if that resolves the issue. To do this, navigate to the save file location and delete the file associated with your main save. Then, launch the game and try creating a new save file to see if the issue persists.



    If deleting the save file doesn't work, you can also try verifying the game files through the Xbox app. To do this, go to the game's page in the Xbox app, click on the three dots next to the "Play" button, and select "Verify." This will check the game files for any errors and repair them if necessary.



    Also, you may try to Repair and Reset the Xbox app. Go to Windows Settings> Apps> Apps and feature or Installed apps>search for Xbox app> Advanced option> Terminate >Repair> Reset

    Lastly, is this happening to all the games that you have or only this specific game?

    Hi,

    I started a new save and saved in the same map of the DLC. It crashed again.

    This new save file showed the same error as the first one, so my best guess is that the DLC corrupts the save file.

    I bought the "Dead Cells: Medley of Pain Bundle" just 2-3 days ago specifically for the DLC maps.

    I tried reinstalling the game in all my drives, followed the instructions mentioned in the reply above and none of them worked.

    I can't play this game like this, so I need a refund.

    What protocol should I follow to achieve that?

    Thanks for the suggestions!

    I tried them all, and none of them worked.

    I really don't want to delete my save file as I have invested quite a few hours in there... Is there anything else I could do? After all, deleting my main save file doesn't mean that the error won't happen again and I really wouldn't want to lose another save file.

    Is there any other option? In case it doesn't work, is there a chance I could get a refund?
