    Day 1 Xbox Bricked During 3/26/20 Update


    My Day 1 Xbox has worked perfectly every day since I purchased it. Last night, I run the usual update and wake up to find the screen on a “Something Went Wrong” error screen. I perform a hard reset, the update restarts from 66% and continues to 84% where it stops and remains frozen for hours until it brings up another “Something Went Wrong” screen. I move on to performing an Offline Update, downloading all the necessary files from my computer to a properly formatted USB drive, running the Troubleshoot menu, and running the Offline Update tab. It barely begins and throws an E101 Error.

    At this point, every forum post I’ve read says that it requires a factory reset or to be sent for repairs. It is a Day 1 and is ineligible for repairs and I am NOT going to spend money I don’t have to purchase a new one when the Series X is coming this holiday season.

    Does anyone have any ideas for possible solutions? They would be greatly appreciated!

    xbox update ...

    The update was pushed the day of to 3 million xbox's and the rest should be updated on or before October 26 to coincide with the windows 8 release date.

    Im a bit worried!

    I've had the Xbox 1 since Day 1 and the August Update hasn't bricked it. I was playing Forza 5 on it an hour ago everything is normal. A key benefit of the August Update is that the Dashboard now tells you WHEN offline friends were last online (eg. 3 hours
    ago, 2 days ago). This is something which Xbox 360's Dashboard does and what xbox.com use to do until they did an overhaul this year.

    Thanks for your response. Sorry for not mentioning in my post, but I've already covered the power checks/resets as well as trying all of my 3 available internet connections. 1 wired and 2 wireless. All are reported, by the Xbox, at between 20 and 30 Mbps.

    I'm reinstalling Forza horizon 4 online, or attempting to... Tried something small like pinball 2 and 3 gives same error immediately. Apps install online no problem.

    I was basically wondering what success / difference is achieved by the Reset and Remove Everything approach. If that doesn't work then, essentially, my Xbox is a brick. Albeit a day one brick.

    Iv got the same thing the update has totally bricked my Xbox and now I cant play black ops online heart broken </3

    My xbox takes for ever to start now it just gets stuck on the xbox 360 thing. :/ and about 20 minutes later the update comes up and FAILS!
