    Data transfer on a broken Xbox one


    I have an Xbox one S. Recently the game I was playing froze, I forced the power off via the X button on the console. 2 days later I went to power up the unit, although the unit powers up it will not connect to the TV through HDMI or connect to the wireless
    controller. I have tried factory resetting the xbox by following the instructions on the Xbox support page but according to the instructions as there was no second beep the process failed. I have set up a service request but really do not want to lose all
    my game data or downloaded games. Is there a way to transfer the game data in the xbox's current state or is it better to call the support line and see if the data can be transferred to the replacement console when it arrives at the service centre?

    There is already ways to transfer to different hard drives if both are working on the storage settings on xbox one.

    I have had problems with a broken hard drive before, There isn't away to transfer data if the drive is broken so a long reinstall process is whats needed to be done if they broken.

    Once you get your replacement Xbox you will have all your save game progression, games,subscriptions, and anything you purchase on your account. All you have to do in sign into your Xbox Live account. However, you will have to redownload your games, unless,
    you have your games saved on an external hard drive.

    Unfortunately it sounds like the hard drive is going bad. It happens sometimes. You would have to try using a data transfer cable to see if it will transfer your files from the old one to a new one, but if it's broken that may not work.

    Xbox files are not meant to be seen on the PC. So it is a violation of the terms of service to transfer files to a PC and vice versa.
