    Dashboard Basically Broken


    So out of the blue yesterday might as well say ny xbox one broke. It started when the store froze up and i had to shut down my console. Then it wouldnt get off the xbox loading screen. So i hard shut down my console and unplugged it. So now when it does
    load up i cant get anything to load up. Cant even get to settings to factory reset it. I just get the error message 0xd0000189 which i tried to look up but ut doesnt pop up on xbox support. Any suggestions?

    Follow comment below and got it to work, though i skipped the last step. Is that bad?

    Hey LintyStorm88224,

    Lets try some things:

    1) PowerCycle

    - Press and hold the white Xbox Button on the Console until it shuts off.

    - Unplug the power cable for around 2 minutes.

    - Replug and Restart your Console. Try again.

    If the error still occurs try the next step:

    2) Reset

    - Power off your console

    - Unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

    - Wait 30 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.

    - Press and hold the BIND button (Xbox One: located on the left side of the console, Xbox One S: located on the front below the power button) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console.

    - Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

    - The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

    - On the Troubleshooter select "Reset" and when asked select the option to "Keep your Games and Apps".

    Make sure you know your Email / Password combination of your Account before you do the Reset.

    3) Offline Update

    - Perform the Offline Update as explainded here under "I need to Update my Console offline" Xbox One System Updates | Offline System Updates

    Let us know if any of this changed your situation.

    ya i hear you, mine makes a slight "clicking" noise when going through the dashboard because surround sound is broken...it gets worse when i try to enable "DTS". For now i set with hdmi audio off and surround sound set to uncompressed stereo, that is the
    only way to make the "clicking" distortion only slightly annoying while navigating menus. It is suspect that they did release such a broken console...i mean come on, just simple basic functions/features are missing, redonkulous.
