    Dashboard and side bar unusable.


    My Xbox 1 had stopped working about 2 or three days ago, after attempting to open the xbox i was met with nothing but gray, when i tried the home button it acted like. I was opening the home only to be met with a slightly darker gray, i tried a hard reset
    only to be met with the same screen, funnily enough the only thing getting through the screen is notifications and the code stating #0x8027025. Saying my dashboard took to long to load? So i hit. The guide option that only brings a light bulb with a question
    mark in the middle the gray screening again. What should i do?

    Hi David,

    Unfortunately no, you would not be able to use a phone to download the OSU files to then force a system update to your console. You would need a USB storage device that meets the requirements listed on the support tool posted by Flymonkey102 in order to
    do the OSU.

    If you haven't done so, go ahead and do a hard restart and power
    cycle     to the console. Hold down the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down and then remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 5 minutes. Then re-connect and wait 60 seconds before turning on
    the Xbox.

    If the issue continues, please try to boot up the console to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter screen listed on the same support tool referenced above. If the Troubleshooter screen appears, select Reset this Xbox and continue to factory reset your Xbox.
    If you cannot get that screen to appear to reset your Xbox to factory defaults, then the offline system update would be your only choice before having to get a new Xbox or send in yours for repair if still under warranty.

    So i got a flash drive and downloaded the link and the update screen is stuck at 76% applying and 90% downloaded your thoughts?

    No visible damage, and it sounds pretty normal ,and i held down the power button for 10 seconds and turned it back on to have the load up happen then back to gray
