Customize classic gamertag

You have to select a.classic gamertag under customize your classic gamertag

i don’t want to change the suffix, i want to change my classic gamertag while keeping the same ‘new format’ gamertag

Hello dysen,

According to the Xbox gamertag FAQ | Xbox Support If you make a paid change (your first change with the new system is free), you’re given the option to customize how you’re seen in older experiences that can’t show the new format.

As for the suffix (# after your name) The suffix is auto assigned by Xbox to make sure everyone is unique. We don’t allow players to select their own suffix at this time.

So I had an old Gamertag for awhile and I got sick of it considering many people couldn’t even pronounce it. I changed it earlier today and I also wanted to make my classic name a random name too. I clicked on a given one considering my new gt and it came up with a stupid one. I attempted to change it and in that attempt I hit confirm on accident. Is there anything I can do without spending more money?
