    I have contacted both the forums here and xbox live customer support multiple times. Each side keeps blaming the other while I am still out $30 worth of rewards points. An xbox live representative gave me false information over the phone resulting in me
    not receiving my 30,000 rewards points for 2 qualified pre orders. Forums keep telling me that my purchases don't qualify because I did not pre order correctly. I followed the my missions instructions, which were vague, so before completing my order I called
    customer support because there was another deal for receiving a $10 with each qualifying pre order. The xbox live rep told me that if I followed the instructions on my rewards that I would only get the gift cards which are $5 less in money back per game. So
    that rep instructed me that to receive my 30,000 rewards points for 2 qualifying pre orders I must buy through the game store on my console. After not receiving my points I have contacted both the forums and live support multiple times as no one will take
    responsibility and solve my issue. Forums keep saying my purchase doesn't qualify and that phone support doesn't have any knowledge of the rewards program. However, phone support still instructed me on rewards points purchases incorrectly and now I don't have
    my points or gift cards (since the rep told me to order differently to avoid the gift cards and receive points. But the gift cards would be better than nothing at this point). Xbox support in general should accept that they made a mistake and issue my points.
    I trusted Microsoft to give me the correct information and they failed, and now are not trying to fix their mistake, so I am back here to the forums again asking for help. It is not my fault that xbox support gave me incorrect instructions, so don't tell me
    my purchases don't qualify. If they have nothing to do with the rewards program then they shouldn't have told me how to preorder for rewards points in the first place. I trust that the rewards forum leader can fix this since xbox support reps say they can't
    because it has to do with the rewards program and sent me back here again.

    I actually had this problem last year, and if the solution is still the same you should contact Xbox Customer Support's hardware division. They should be able to help you out if nothing's changed since I tried.

    Microsoft support's response

    I have just been to the Support tab (by using the drop down box where it says "discussion" - where I posted about connection impossible earlier today. And there is a response - of sorts - from Microsoft Bingo.

    It wasn't there earlier, though seems now to be pinned to the top and says is 7 days old.

    Basically it gives the usual "troubleshooting guide" and doesn't address current issues at all.

    I responded to explain this (by PM)

    Maybe others could also reply?

    Since Xbox support are the ones who gave you the incorrect information, they would be the ones who would need to give you some sort of compensation. Generally, the only compensation they offer is a free month of Live. They would not be able to award Rewards
    credits at all. There would be no way to receive the rewards credits since the purchases were not eligible.

  5. The support end has been trying to resolve my issue but simply can't since your department isn't accessible by anyone but you so they have given me a service request number -
    1368234598 - for you to reference and hopefully remedy this. They have done all they can and have said it is ultimately up to your end to find a solution to this problem. Thank you.

    Hi carribou lou816. Rewards support is only available via the forums, it is separate from Xbox Support. In order to qualify for the Microsoft Store Pre-Order offer, the purchase had to be made at microsoftstore.com for the physical copy. This is stated in
    the offer page and the FAQ. Since you purchased digitally from the Xbox Store, it does not qualify for that offer.

    Sounds like a simple enough mistake, but its something you'll need to reach out to Microsoft Customer Support for assistance with :)
