custom playlist on xbox original games

Got MTV music generator 3 original xbox game. Backward compatibility update install and game working but I cant use custom playlist to rip my own samples to the game but they work on other xbox 360 games.

How do I get the custom playlist to work or how can I rip samples into the MTV game

X1 plays CDs and supports DLNA

@Mr Original PS4 has custom soundtracks via Music Unlimited. Not sure once they add MP3/DLNA support that you can customize playlists and soundtracks yet.

Hey there, CuddlyAphid05! This definitely is a weird one, as the Original Xbox games have limited support. However, let's see what we can find out!

The only thing I can determine is that the music needs to be on your hard drive to be able to use within the game. Have you ripped the music you would like to use from a CD to your hard drive?

Give that a try and post back your results! If that doesn't work, we'll look into what else we can do to get it going for you.

 

Yea I have ripped the samples from a cd to my hard drive. Made a custom playlist for the individual samples (1 playlist 1 sample) but MTV music generator 3 still does not recognise them. They work no problem with fifa 13 for example. They don't show up
in the hard drive in game when I try to rip but I can save my projects in the hard drive.

I have try different audio formats but still nothing can you help ???

 

When you rip music into the hard drive of the original xbox what audio format was it???

Is it the same format as the xbox 360 rip ???

Those audio files should be the same file type as they were when ripped. It's odd that they are working just fine in other games. That makes me believe this is something to do with the game itself.

That being the case, I did some digging. Normally we refer to the developer of the game, but I can't find TBC anywhere. Since this game came out 11 years ago, they may no longer be in business. However, CodeMasters is still around, and they even sell this
game on Amazon. I suggest reaching out to them to see if they might have some more hints for you to get this working.

Thanks I will try and contact them. I have dune some digging of my own and I find out that the original xbox rip at wma audio format 128 bit. I'm going to convert it all to this format, burn a audio cd and rip it to my 360 and see if this works. I will
post my results.

Yea I now its a old game but its the only music production software for the xbox, and I think that Microsoft should re master this game, co's even 11 years on it's still very good music production software it only needs fresh samples and tracks and a improvement
on the sound engine and we are good to go. BOOM

I know we are in the pc era but there is still a lot of people who don't have access to pc and even if you do you still have to get a sound card, monitor speakers and learn how to master.

Microsoft could lead the way from apps to pc software and games. Apple gives away garage band in all there software, Sony also have different titles so how come Microsoft being the biggest ( at lease for me it is ) company in the world falls short in this
area.

I believe the issue is due to this being an original Xbox game running on the 360 and not able to access files/music ripped onto the 360. I don't think the original Xbox games can access the audio files on the 360 hard drive. FIFA 13 is able to access it
because it is a 360 game as it was designed for that. The way to check this for sure would be to fire up another original Xbox game that supports custom soundtracks to see if they are accessible in that game. I'm not at home at the moment so cannot check this
myself to confirm it for you.

If the other game does allow for music to be played from the hard drive, then it is an issue with the game itself in its emulation - you might be able to get it to work with the measures you are looking into. If it does, then there is probably nothing you
can do to get it to work since it is a problem where no emulated game can access the music on the 360 hard drive. Frankly, I doubt you will get this to work 100% on the 360 and will need an original Xbox to get full functionality from this title.

I did a little more poking around and it does seem that the custom soundtrack feature may not be supported through backwards compatibility/emulation on the 360. Once I get home this evening I can confirm this on my own console. If the custom soundtrack feature
isn't supported for any games (which does appear to be the case), then you will not be able to do what you are trying on the 360 - you will only get that functionality on the original Xbox.

I just got an original XBOX 360 HDD ( its is the grey one and it's Microsoft) and going to get Microsoft transfer cable.

If I copy all of my XBOX 360 ( console ) to this HDD and connect it to the pc, can I access the emulations folder and manually insert the custom tracks I want ? or do I still have to make playlist like you normally would ???

 

I doubt if that would work, and discussion of things such as modifying files or hardware (the 360 hard drive) on this forum are not allowed since it is against the terms of service. I had not gotten the chance to check the custom soundtracks yet on my 360
with original games, but will try to do so tonight when I get home and let you know. You are probably going to have to get an original Xbox to get the full usage of that game/program.

 

Im sorry but I did not mean alter no hardware or software . All is original Microsoft and its going to stay that way only thing is putting music into the emulation folder . Is that not aloud if so tell me so I don't do it thanks .

 

Technically it is considered modifying the hard drive since you would be using a PC to do it, so is not allowed to be discussed in these forums. I still think it won't work anyway. I still haven't had the chance to check an original Xbox game yet on custom
soundtracks, but I do have some time tonight.
