Crysis 3, what happened?

So I finally got around to playing Crysis 3 recently which I downloaded on sale and this has to be one of the most boring FPS games I've ever played. What the hell happened? I enjoyed the first game on the PC and even the second one kept my attention throughout...
Crysis 3 on the other hand hasn't been able to keep me interested at all. The story, dialogue, characters, and overall gameplay is just flat out boring. It's gotten to the point now where I'm skipping all of the cutscenes just to finish it faster... Maybe
I've played too many shooters and it's starting to burn me out, but I haven't played a FPS in recent memory that was THIS boring/uninteresting. I actually just beat Advanced Warfare and thoroughly enjoyed it (not great mind you, but okay).

Crysis 1 has a far deeper story then in 2, and a great example of a good FPS

Interesting to see how Crysis 3 develops...just hope they sort out the online element because sadly, thats what killed Crysis 2 for a lot of people

What other games have they made besides Crysis? That's the only one I know of by them. Dat Crysis doe? Love it. I still need to play 3.

I was going to buy it in that sale, but then read some reviews.

I don`t normally take notice of reviews but i couldn`t find anyone praising it.

 

You made a wise choice, I think I'm at the end and it can't end fast enough.

 

I kind of wish they would release for games with gold. Bought it at launch and liked it but no one wanted to play it online for to long.

 

It was a deal with gold, I can't remember if it was free or not but it was cheap. Campaign was awful, just beat it a few minutes ago... Promptly deleted it from my HDD.

 

what happened? another example of a forced game being rushed by ea... still, a very pretty game and i can't wait to see what crytech does next, i think it's supposed to be an rpg or something.

 

Graphically it was impressive, but that's about all it had going for it. The dialogue and characters were really bad, not to mention a generic and uninteresting story, and the gameplay was oddly dull too. It felt more "open" than Crysis 3 but the "open"
levels were mostly just empty spaces filled with debris and foliage. I was disappointed.

 

Oh man i love Crysis 3 i thought it was a blast but seemed short. It wasn't as good as Crysis 2 mind you but the Bow was a nice addition. I'm not a huge FPS guy(TPS all the way)but the Crysis games are some of my favorites of that genre.

 

Crysis 3 was a victim of the "bow/arrow trend". Too many games that year came out with that feature...

 

And here I was getting curious of checking out Crysis 3, despite how I felt about Crysis 2...
