Crusader Kings III won't install - get message saying it's not yet available

When I try to install Crusader Kings III on Xbox Game Pass, it claims to be installed after just few seconds, but does not appear in the app list on the left. The Play button does appear on the store screen but if I click it, I get this message:

Your too early: We know that you really want to get started, but you’ll have to wait a bit longer. Check the store for the launch date."

I uninstalled (via Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel) and reinstalled, but the same again. In Control Panel, it shows it as installed, but the size is only 10.1MB.

If you view it in Windows Store it says it's only released in September (to buy), but it should apparently be available to XGP users now. If not, why does it appear in my 'Recently Added' list and actively encourage me to play it!?

I was equally confused.

Now I'm justifiably annoyed: All of the UI messaging in the Xbox Game Pass PC application and Microsoft Store doesn't make a single mention of it
not being playable now.

That is until you actually launch the game. I'm "too early" and Microsoft assures me they "know I can't wait to get started." OK.

Yet the UI buttons persist; Loudly prompting me to PLAY after installing it from the prominent "Recently added" section.

Only upon actually trying to play it does the above message about being "too early" prompt. Apparently we have to wait until September 1st?!

Suggest Microsoft seriously reviews their in-app messaging and user experience for unreleased and unavailable games. Like, maybe don't populate the "play now" sections with unplayable games?

Its available September 1st. They just put it in now to show they'll have it Day 1.

I see, we could try couple things more on your PC:

I'm thinking couple options more:

1. Try uninstalling the most recent windows update, just in case it is the one that is causing conflicts

2. If you're on Windows 11, downgrade to 10 and try again. Or do the opposite case if you're able to upgrade to 11. (If you don't mind, we could try this strep creating a new partition and install the other Windows edition with a Bootable USB drive just to avoid data loss)

So the game gives me an error code and we are basically to the point of going with the nuclear option because it won't install?

I know you are just trying to help, but those options are a bit much for this case.
