    Crusader Kings 3 won't launch after Xbox app update


    Hi,

    Crusader Kings 3 will no longer launch after the latest update to the xbox app on PC. When launching from the xbox app i get an error ding but the error box disappears so quickly it can't be read.

    When trying to launch the Paradox Launcher from the games install directory as an administrator i get the following.

    I have tried changing the permissions of all the files in the game fodler, disabling windows firewall and windows defender, verified the game files, and reinstalled the game. All of which made zero difference.

    This appears to be due to the lastest Xbox app release which I installed today as the game was working previously

    Hi,

    I've fixed this. There were some other updates in the Microsoft store which I have now installed. Game is now launching and playing correctly.

    Please go to the settings app on the PC, select Microsoft update and then click on check updates, install any available

    After that follow this steps

    Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.

    In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

    get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

    In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

    Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

    Restart your device and try to install the game again.
