Crossplay Fortnight

I have an issue where I can't cross play with my son on Fortnite.

Yes I looked at the thousands of posts here and at other sites.

Scenario 1 - Child playing with other Xbox friends

Child has a child account and is Logged into Xbox has linked epic account and has added friends.

Child is ok to play with other xbox users (Great !)

Scenario 2 - Child playing on Xbox, adult on PC

He has a child account and is logged into xbox and linked epic account, with me as an Xbox Friend and epic friend.

I have linked my xBox Adult account with Epic, but am using a PC to play on.

With adult on PC, Child sends me a party invite via Fortnite lobby, I get the invite and accept but nothing happens !!!

Scenario 3 - Child playing on PC, adult on Xbox

Adult logged on to the Xbox and in the Fortnight Lobby.

Child logged on to the PC and in the Fortnight Lobby sends a party invite and I accept which works fine. This also works fine if the party invite is sent from the xbox by me.

I can't find how get Scenario 2 to work.

Is this the child account issue? Or a cross platform play issue or something else? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. Bought Fortnight Limited edition for 1079nok ( aroumd 100 dollars )

The game is downloaded.

But I find the things that Were suposed to come with this game.

Whats am I doing wrong?

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Child accounts being able to crossplay on Fortnite is something that was intended to be implemented on the most recent update. The plan is to apply a parental setting for adult accounts that allows them
to enable crossplay for a child account. We are working on implementing this feature as soon as possible. We will provide an update to everyone on the forums when the feature has been added. We hope this helps!

Right now the Child accounts are not allowed to play Cross-Platform. They can only play with other Xbox Users. This is something Microsoft is working on but no ETA as to when this will happen.

I'm in the same situation with my Children. It's an inconvenience, but I'm sure Microsoft will figure it out.

Hello all,

The setting is now active to change for parents. I just verified it is there myself on the console. When you go to privacy and online safety under custom and communication and multiplayer says you can play
with people outside Xbox live. Due to this is fixed I will be locking this post. There are two setting one for play and another for communication.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you are trying to enable settings for Fortnite. We will go over each bug you have listed.

To change the setting you need to be on the parent account, access family and choose your sons profile then privacy settings. Will give you template at end for the settings on the Xbox.
Once an age is put in, it is unable to be changed on Xbox.com this is a security measure in place so kids don't go changing them. This also covers bug 3.

To enable the cross play you will need to do the following:

Log onto the parent account
Go to family then manage family members
Select the child profile
go to privacy and online safety then Xbox live privacy
then go to view details and customize-communication and multiplayer
Then select you can play with people outside of Xbox live and select allow
to allow them to communicate also select "you can communicate outside Xbox live with voice and text
