Cross play between Xbox One and Xbox Scarlet?

Hey there, even though it sounds in theory like these are two different consoles, the series X is still in the Xbox one family. The only time you have to worry about cross play now, is when somebody has on Sony and Microsoft and then it is up to mostly
the game developer as to whether or not you can play against somebody on a different console. #staysafe

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. Xbox one and Xbox one X are both the Xbox one series. There is no need for crossplay. Cross play are for different platforms entirely like an Xbox one and PC or with PlayStation.

I have a question. When you say scarlet are you referring too project scarlet that is dealing with the Xbox series x that comes out late this year rather than the Xbox one x that is already out? I ask because you referenced the 360 and one in same context
as to my question?

If this is the cause then yes the Xbox series x will play with all models of Xbox one as well as cross play ability.

Yes, Im referring to project scarlet that's coming out this year. I saying that in-between time when game developers come out with the same game for two generation consoles, because not everyone has the new console yet. One version for xbox one
and one newer version with project scarlet. Would I and a friend be able to play together online if I had the last gen version of the game on xbox one and my friend had the newer version of the game on his project scarlet? That's why I sent both versions
of the destiny game on xbox 360 (old gen) and xbox one version (new gen).
