I'm sorry you are experiencing this with adding your payment card.

I understand that the payment card works on different platforms such as PS5 and Switch. There could be a piece of information from your Xbox account that is mismatched with your payment method. "A few of the things you can check while entering the details:

> Enter your name precisely as it appears on the card. Only include your middle initial if it appears on your card.
> If this is a company card, enter the company name as both a first name and last name. For example, if the company name is "Contoso Shoes" split the company name into the first and last name fields.
> If the company only has one name, for example, "Contoso," enter the company name in both the first and last name fields.
> If you are asked to enter the address and it exceeds the Address 1 field, use the Address 2 field. Do not shorten or abbreviate your address.
> The card number and type cannot be edited, so if you make a mistake, you'll need to add a new one with the correct information. Other credit card information can be edited, such as billing address and expiration date.

Kindly sign in to account.microsoft.com > go to Payment and Billing > Address book to update your Billing information.

Also, check if your Xbox Live region matches your billing address by signing your account on account.xbox.com > click on your gamer picture > click the 3 dots symbol > Xbox settings > then Xbox 360 region.

Note: Do NOT change the region yet as this will cause your account to undergo an account migration. You won't be able to change your region for 90 days.

I managed to get it to work by creating a paypal account with my credit card and using that instead of my credit card alone...

perhaps its an issue with the transaction processing for Credit cards, as the processing for paypal works fine.

This is still not working for me!! I have tried everything credit card, debit card, code, changing my name and trying with different credit card, nothing works!

No no no, any credit card will work but temporary cards will also work.
