credit card doesn't work when purchasing in XBOX store

Also, when you say 'credit card' if it's one of those bought in a store prepaid credit cards it may not work for online purchases. Those are just gift cards to most online purchasing.

If it's a gift card credit card you purchase at a store, it will not work.

Quick update -- Microsoft Support were very good on the phone, they've removed the purchase and refunded the money. It seems that the reason he was able to purchase it was because the xbox account was marked as "adult" instead of "child" because it was
in my name even though it was for my son, and the account had the credit card stored from when we purchased the live service. They've now removed the credit card to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I don't think they take tax when you already have credit on account. I know they do if you purchase with a credit card or paypal, but I think if you have actual money left on account it doesn't take taxes. Maybe it's because of purchasing those codes/cards
you probably payed tax at the store. That's my guess anyways.

Well the region im in isn't available, this doesn't help at all, why can't i make a purchase as long as the credit card information is valid, shouldn't i be able to make a purchase? Online stores have even worse options and there are no retail stores that have xbox gift cards, making an online purchase shouldn't caus3 this much hassle
