Creating separate child account

I used my account for my child but need them to have their own account and manage privileges in family section. How do I create a new account for my child without them loosing everything associated with the account set up using my details?

Hello, JoHolton!

if you wish to create a new account for your child, Go over in the xbox menu and go to the account section and click, "Add New" then add in the information to create a new account. If you go to the account that has Everything, such as games, etc.
You should Game share, so go to the profile that has everything such as the Games and other stuff. and go to settings. go to personalization, and go to "Make this my home XBox" or something of that sorts and make that your home xbox. As long as that is kept
the games and gold. and everything else game wise. should be shared with the new account. so the new account will get to keep the Gold/games but if its on the same console you should be able to just keep the games no matter what on any profile. just not the
gold/game pass I don't think.

(Select Add new, and then add both accounts to your Xbox One. From there, you must make your gameshare partner's Xbox One your “home Xbox.” Go into the Settings menu, then Personalize,

create an account for yourself and create a separate account for your child. Do not let your child sign in on your account this will create a headache for you later.

Create a child account and lock the adult account with passkey or password. This separates the accounts so children can't access payment methods.

Okay, so if I convert the local gamertag to a live one, can it then be put under my account as a child's account? If so, how does one do that? I'm familiar with creating an account for a child, moving a separate account under mine as my child's account
would be interesting too.

This right here is your BEST option. Child accounts have a slew of settings that can be adjusted to prevent unauthorized access to many parts of the Marketplace and XBL service. Just make sure you set a pass code on your adult account
to prevent the child from using that to get what he wants and make sure he doesn't see you enter it or know what it is.
