CREATING NEW GAMERTAG

Microsoft only allows for the use of one gamertag per Microsoft account, so to make a brand new gamertag separate from the others you would need to create a brand new Microsoft account/email address.

Once you do this you can then create and add a new gamertag with that new MS account to your Xbox with the steps in this below link.

Just to be sure, you create a bew Gamertag? Or your recover your gamertag?

Because by the way you explain you create a new gamertag.

make sure you select recover gamertag and not create a new gamertag.

Just create a new Gamertag.

If you create an offensive or inappropriate Gamertag, it will be replaced with a new automatically-generated Gamertag.
