Creaking Xbox One S Controller (1 Week Old)

    Dear Xbox community.

For years I have been a proud owner of a Wired Xbox 360 controller and since last week I decided to upgrade my old steed for a new Xbox One S Controller. When unpacked and pairing it (via an separated purchased Wireless for Windows USB dongle) I really loved
the old Xbox controller feel (after some using some brands I will not mention on this forum Creaking Xbox One S Controller (1 Week Old) :) ) and enjoyed playing with it.

Now I do not play any fighting games, or soccers games (which are known for heavy button bashing and smashing), neither did I drop or bunked my controller against the concrete, but when playing Watch Dogs 2 I noticed a creaking sound, when having my index finger,
of my left hand, resting on the back of my new controller. When checking where the sound came from, I noticed that the plastic (of the left side panel) feels real bendy (do not really know how to explain it, but with the lightest force it bends towards my
left shoulder button). The right side panel does not have this issue and is real sturdy compared to the left one.

Now I do not want to argue about the smallest things, nor do I want to disassemble the controller's parts, but I am affraid that, due to the bendiness (is this a real word?), sooner or later there could be a bigger malfunction with my new controller (e.g.
    buttons falling off).

So instead of going back and try to claim my customer warranty, I thought it was a better idea to ask it on this forums first. So are there people who had the same issues / sounds coming from their controllers, and are those still properly working or does this
mean that there is something faulty in my controller.

I hope someone understands what I just wrote and could help me out.

    Thanks!

    :)

If the controller is only a week old, then you should still be able to take it back to the retailer, and either get a replacement or money back. It could just be that the controller is faulty. I'm sure if you explain the situation to the retailer, then
they will sort it out for you.

    Hello LentGekoba,

My experience with 4 different gamepads, I never had that issue (4 non malfunctioning, just in case!)

If I were you, I would exchange it by warranty or on the shop, that shouldn't be normal.

In case that you need the link, here you have it : https://beta.support.xbox.com/contact-us

The Xbox One Controller - Is yours kinda flimsy?

My controller also creaks and feels like its loose- similar to Sir Loin. Just wondering is it replaceable under warranty if it's day 1, and still works fine- do they replace them simply because it creaks and slides a bit? Any info would be appreciated.

The build quality is definitely a step down from the 360's controller. Mine creaks on the right side where the two halves of the shell meet. It seems like the primary consideration was to reduce manufacturing costs.

    Day one controller build quality

I have to agree. The day one controller was and is garbage. It creaks, twists easily and overall build quality is poor.
