Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled crashing on Xbox Series X but not on Xbox 1 S

Got Nitro-Fueled when it came out and played it on the Xbox 1 S no problems (aside from the slower system leading to long loading screens). My brother got a Series X and switched to playing on that. The game consistently crashes between ~30 to ~120 minutes of game time, no matter what I do (I'm playing entirely offline as the online for this game is rather dead). It usually crashes mid-race and resets me to the home menu of the Xbox, where I have to reboot the game again. At first I thought this might be a problem with that specific Xbox, but after getting a Series X myself and running into the same issue again, I'm not so sure. I've tested it with different copies of the disc and without the disk, running it digitally off of Gamepass with no changes in the crashes.

As I understand, this game was left without support before all the bugfixing got done, so there is a chance this is just a problem ingrained into the game. Just wondering if there is a solution to this given it doesn't seem to crash on the older Xbox's.
