Couldn't get most recent game save

I got an update on june 8th 2018 played farcry 5 with no problems then the next day tried to play it and got the "couldn't get most recent game save try offline mode". Tried playing another game and got the same thing, turns out every game is giving me the
same error. Tried everything I could think of nothing worked, it's affecting every profile. Called support they suggest a soft rest but I have to wait until everyone is home so i can make sure they all know the email and password for their profiles before
i reset it and then I'm going to have to try someone else's profile before I re-download my profile so it doesn't re-download the update first. Thought I should mention it in case no one else has and it see if anyone else has and if there is a workaround that
you know of or if you know about it and have an idea when there will be a fix for it. Thanks dave

Fable 3, load saved games

You should be able to select "Load Game Save" from the Main Menu or in Game and select the most recent point in the game that you're searching for. However, if your most recent save is an auto-save, then you will have to choose the save prior to the auto-save
one that is closer to the "final battle" in your game.

It could be. Never keep your most recent save as an Auto Save, those get overwritten without asking you.

I think I've found what the issue is as well as the solution. A big thanks to Pete._.M for the help on this one. Couldn't have done it without them.

When you install the game, it creates a local game save folder and uses that by default. It is syncing cloud saves, but the local saves take priority and the cloud save is ignored. Found, what I think, is the solution on this. Steps Below.

On the machine having issues syncing, go to C:\Users\YOURUSERHERE\Saved Games Delete the Outer Worlds folder.
Reboot the machine.
Sign into game pass on the other machine, launch Outer Worlds, load into your most recent save, quit game.
Go back to the problem machine, and launch Xbox beta and then Outer Worlds

The most recent save should be pulled down from the cloud. This worked for me, hopefully it will work for you too.

It started happening to me earlier. Couldn't walk more than a few metres without the game pausing for a second or two.

I went out the game. Checked the memory section of the dashboard and noticed I had nearly 2GB worth of saves for Skyrim.

Just spent ages deleted a load of save so now I only have 20 so so of the most recent saves. So far the lag has gone. Keeping my fingers crossed.
