Cortana Invoke xbox one skill doesn't stay paired

Anybody else experiencing the Cortana xbox skill not staying paired with the xbox? A majority of the time it just doesn't even work, but when I do get the two paired it doesn't last that long. For example, if I come back the next day and say "Hey Cortana,
tell xbox to turn on". I get the response, "Sorry I can't help with that right now". The only way to remedy the matter is to say "Cortana, tell xbox to pair". Rinse and repeat the process every time. Is this normal behavior to have to pair the two devices
all the time or is there something wrong?

I've tried a hard reboot for both devices. I've enabled digital assistant on the xbox one. And lastly, even the Cortana app indicates that I'm already connected to my xbox even though I am not or have to first pair again before the two work together.

Saving a paired connection with youtube on Xbox One

One thing you could check, As I was having the same problem is to,

sign in to the same google/youtube account on both the xbox one and your pc or tablet before pairing

then the pairing should stay

if you don't its only a temp pair

The Cortana Voice assistant is pretty specific about the commands you give her.

First I would like to provide the different voice commands that you can give to Cortana:

You can also say "Hey Cortana, what can I say?"

It seems she is compatible with Spotify playlist but I can't find anything specific to having her play songs from your OneDrive.

For music downloaded from the Internet you need the Xbox Media Player App to play those files or the VLC app.

I can't find anything on our official website that states music on your OneDrive can be played as the Xbox doesn't have an integrated music player as it has partnered with Spotify.

It may be that Cortana is just not compatible for the OneDrive app.

If you'd like to try a
power cycle, it may help with the situation to fully reboot the Xbox.

There is also a library for all Cortana Skills available with learn more options for further assistance.

Please attempt all variants of Restarting the Console as well as clarify the exact process for pairing the two.

Yes, and I've tried all of the above items that you have listed. What is strange is that I can get the two devices connected with each other, but then the two devices will disconnect and I have to pair them again in order for them to work together. The
two devices never stay connected for an extended period of time. I haven't measured how long it takes for the two to lose their connection. I do know that if I connect them let's say tonight, then tomorrow they will no longer be connected. Cortana Invoke
will say, "Sorry, I can't help with that right now".

If this is a known glitch that others are dealing with, then I can postpone using the integration until it gets resolve in a later system update. I just want to know if this is an isolated situation or if this is happening to a lot of other people.

I have yet to find a similar post on the community forum or web.

 

I had this issue, disconnect the Xbox skill in Cortana, factory reset your Invoke and then add the Xbox Skill back. Been working like a champ every since. Good luck.

 

Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a shot and let you know if that works. I know I've done a factory reset before, but I didn't remove the skill before doing so.
