    Does anyone know how to convert the Xbox software to windows software.

    Or to erase the console completely so that i can reboot it with windows installed onto my USB so that i can just set it to windows 10.

    you can't do that, xbox os is a custom version of windows 10. plus deleting software from the console would be against the rules.

    Disregard my last post as creating new windows 8 account is not necessary.



    First convert your windows 8 account into an offline account.



    then convert it to an online account again using your xbox live login details. This will effectively let you change the live id associated with your windows 8 account without waiting 30 days.



    To convert to an offline account fist go to the windows 8 start screen the move mouse cursor to top right of screen. Select change PC settings then select Users. You can now select switch to a local account which will unlink the Microsoft account currently
    associated with your windows 8 account.



    After doing this you can then switch back to an online account this time using your xbox live login details.
