    Controllers won't connect to XSX at all


    Tried to turn on my Xbox today using the controller's Xbox button, but nothing happened. Manually turned on the console via the Power button, and was prompted with a screen telling me I have to update to use my console (went ahead and removed the connection to the Internet but I hit a screen telling me that an update is required to use my console). Well over wirelessly or wired, my three controllers (2 XS, 1 Elite 2) won't work. When they are wired to the console the Xbox light on the controller goes away, and when I plug them they will continue to flash again.

    I've unplugged everything from the Xbox and tried it again and nothing. Right not, as far as I can tell, the console is a paper-weight unless I can somehow remotely tell it to update.

    xbox series x controller disconnecting pc

    I got 2 of the xsx controllers.. they used to disconnect randomly on the xsx.. but it seems like its fixed now. on win10 some games are basically unplayable.. randomly flashes and disconnects.. the older xbox one controllers have no problems at all. does microsoft know of this problem.. it should be pretty widespread.

    No that does not help at all.

    I am engineer myself, I have already ruled out usual suspects like firmware updates and other things.

    Xbox Series X controller was designed for XSX while X1 controller is older.

    Then why th is XSX controller behaving this way.

    You have no idea how many times controller stopped responding because it was idle for a minute or two and I lost the match.

    I expected a better response.

    Hi,

    Controllers are up to date. This is the first thing I checked.

    I first encountered this issue around 1-2 months ago, so that would be 3 months after I purchased my XSX.

    I didn’t try anything yet as I’m not sure what can I do. I tried switching back to normal batteries as I mentioned but it didn’t work and the issue was still there.

    Now I’ll try to do this power cycle thing with my XSX and see if it helps, but sceptical that it will help to be honest.

    Using my controllers with a cable is not a solution. I sit far from the TV and I need my controllers to work wireless. Plus what’s the point of having wireless controllers if they would need to be connected via cable?

    There is also this issue with XSX showing wrong battery % which I think might be connected.

    Do you know if there will be a fix coming soon for this? Id like to be able to use my series 2 controller on my pc and XSX the same way i use my XSX controller on PC and Xbox.

    Its a hassle having to repair each to each device.
