Controllers won't connect even by cable

My Xbox One Console refuses to connect to any controller (Including Rock Band 4 Guitar) even when with a USB cable, and I've tried mulitple. And it's definitely not the controllers as they connect to my wireless receiver on my PC with no issues. I don't
have any wireless devices turned on and nothing should be obstructing it yet it continues to disconnect. Was hoping warranty was still up but mine expired this year and I'm definitely not about to pay 115 dollars for probably some cheap fix. Especially when
Xbox One S is 200 dollars in some places.

Controllers will not connect to Xbox

Never mind, I discovered the problem was with the HDMI cable, apparently controllers won't connect if there is an A/V issue;

 

Bought a used Xbox 360

Xbox 360 uses a standard HDMI cable to connect to the TV. You can buy one for $2-3 online if you don't have any spare ones at home. There are also component and composite cables for connecting to older TVs.

For controllers, you can buy a Microsoft-brand controller for $30 or a third-party controller for much cheaper. Microsoft controllers are better quality. If you want to save even more money (and batteries), you could even buy a corded controller instead of a wireless one.
