    Controllers not working after Xbox is in rest mode


    I have a Xbox One X running the alpha skip-ahead. Approximately 50% of the time after putting my Xbox to sleep, when I come back it will not accept any input from the controllers except for the home button. The only way I can use my console again is by doing a hard reset and rebooting. I have an elite series 2 controller but I have tried all of my controllers (a regular one and a day one) but none of them will work. They connect... but don’t allow me to input anything. Has anyone else had this problem? I have reported it every time.

    Here's my feedback on the issue

    Does the issue occur with a different controller?

    Yes

    Which power mode is your console set to? Instant on mode or energy-saving mode?

    Instant mode

    Does the issue occur when your controller is connected with a USB cable?

    No. Xbox starts just fine when USB is attached

    How often does the issue occur?

    When I change setting from power saving to instant mode the first boot on instant mode works OK. After that I need to manually start from the console and controller start up will not work at all. "Xbox on" voice command worked with kinect but this is not
    an option for me because finnish is not supported.

    I just noticed that restart using controller worked when I shutdown the console while battlefield 4 was running. After I stopped the game before shutdown, xbox cannot be started using controller in instant mode.

    Looks like something's wrong with the firmware as the issue cannot be reproduced while game is on and it works just fine on first boot after power mode change

    the Xbox One console can download games and updates when it is set to Instant-On (and the console is on stand by).

    Is there a Sleep/Rest Mode?

    Yes there is the "Instant-On" mode which gives quicker startup time and will let the console download system updates and apply them when they become available..

    When you have set the consoles Power mode to "Instant" on you just turn it off like before and it will enter Instant off mode instead of turning completely off
