Controller wont charge

Hi, recently i got an xbox one for my birthday but i realized that my contoller hasn’t been charging at all i don’t know if it’s the batteries or if im not using the right thing to charge it but i don’t think it’s the battery cause as i said i got the xbox
very recently and used the rechargable batteries that came with it the controller works while plugged in but when it’s plugged out and i press the button it’ll flash but as soon as i take my finger off it turns off and wont work. It’s always in critical i
left it to charge for a little and i checked the battery and it was ready and almost full so i took it ready to play a game but then it said the battery was crictical and i was very confused seeing as the battery was full just a minute ago i checked and it
was red again I don’t know what to do and i really hope i haven’t broken it because it was expensive

Hello, batteries cannot be charged through an xbox controller whether they are rechargeable or not, sorry.

Im actually not too sure if they’re rechargable but people say they are they did come along with the system and yes its the same controller that came with the system

Hi, sorry for the issue. I have a similar issue with my standing charger. The older batteries change from red to green almost instantly. I know that it takes a few hours so I swap batteries and let the one charge for a while. I have one new battery that
does properly read red until it truly is charged. I believe it is an issue with the older batteries not acurately conveying their charge level to the charger. If you do need to charge the battery I reccomend leaving the controller connected to the system overnight
afte ryou finish your play session.

I have had this problem once in the past. The chargeable battery packs for these controllers in all honesty aren't the greatest. I simply started to use the one with slots for the two AA batteries and my controller has been working fine every since.
