Controller will not wirelessly sync with Xbox One S console.

My controller got spontaneously unsynced and will not sync back up with my Xbox one S. While the sync button on my controller works fine the one for my Xbox One console won’t since whenever I press it the light will not start blinking like it should. While the controller can connect through a USB cable it immediately disconnects when I unplug it. I have tried restarting my Xbox and update my controller to no avail.

Seems to be the same problem I had with mine. I managed to solve it here by connecting it to another console and then reconnecting to mine.

Do you have a different controller that we can try to use? Also, please perform a powercycle on your console and then try again.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

We understand that there is an issue being experienced in reference to one of the two controllers not being able to sync wirelessly to the Xbox One console.

We suggest the following troubleshoot your Xbox One wireless controller support guide, which will guide you through
various steps in order to get the controller synced back with the console.

Follow the wizard for us, and let us know if this works.

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the forums with this situation. I understand you're trying to connect an Xbox One Wireless Controller to a Windows 10 PC but the sync button on the console is broken is that correct? If that's the case you can set up
the controller with a USB cable and us it Wired. To continue wirelessly you could get an Xbox One Wireless Controller Adapter for Window 10 and then connect the controller with the USB and see if it stays synced after you unplug it. Asides from that replacing
the controller would most likely be your best bet. You can always sync the controller to an Xbox One Console also by using a USB and then unplugging it.

Hi Tx! Since your Xbox One sync or pair button is broken, I am afraid that you can no longer wirelessly connect your controller directly to your console. The best option we can do to use your controller is by connecting it using a USB cable.
