Thanks for your response; I believe Brad is asking if your Xbox console is plugged directly to a power outlet or to a power strip/surge protector for power.

I am curious, do you have the console plugged directly into the wall? If it is plugged into a surge protector or ext. cord it can cause issues with the controller connecting. How old is the controller also?
