Controller update mic issues.

I obviously cannot speak for the others in this thread, but I'm very doubtful that it's a controller issue. I have tried two different mics (a standard mic and a mic adapter) on two different controllers, removing and replacing about 20+ times per mic with
no luck. Because I bought a mic adapter, I did do controller updates for each of the controllers I've been using, with no issues, for over a year now.

We understand the inconvenience caused. As per description, your wired mic is having an issue after the last controller update. Game sounds still work but the mic won't relay to game or party chats. Let us check on this together and sort this out to assist your concern.

So far, from the details you provided, you can try the following steps and let us know the result. You can just skip those you have done already.

Press Windows key + X
-Go to Device Manager
-Expand the Sound and Video Game Controller
-Look for the Audio driver that was installed
-Right click then hit uninstall
Once uninstalled, download the driver from the manufacturer's website.

Once installed restart your pc and check if the Microphone works.

Dbole - I did do a controller update since I bought a mic adapter, in addition to a standard mic, over the weekend since I thought that the standard mic may have been the issue.

JSmith - I've tried two different mics on two different controllers numerous times, and I had no issues with my original controllers for over a year now until just this past weekend. I can't say with 100% certainty, but I'm pretty confident to say it's
not a controller issue for myself at this point.

Have you tried updating the controller's firmware? Sometimes issues with audio/mics can be resolved by this. Link on how to below:
