Controller turns xbox on, then nothing else

I'm sorry to hear you've been experiencing some issues with your controller.

If you don't mind, please wait for your controller to become unresponsive, and then give this a try:

- Press and hold your controller's Xbox button until it shuts down.

- Remove your controller's batteries and the Micro-USB cable (if plugged in) for a minute or two.

- Press and hold your console's power button until it shuts down.

- Remove all external devices from the console's USB ports.

- Unplug your console's power cord for 5 minutes. If you have the original Xbox

One, you'll need to unplug the power supply unit from both the console and the

outlet.

- Plug the power cord back in, and make sure to use one of the wall's outlets.

- Turn your console on and check if the issues persist.

* If necessary, try pairing your controller again.

Hey IncensedRook753,that seems like a bit of a different issue than what other folks in here are experiencing. Let's create a new thread detailing the exact issue so we can best help you out

CalebMan2007 and TheRealTFreezy, really sorry to hear you're only seeing a black screen when you turn on your console. We have a troubleshooter for this exact issue which can be found on

this page. If you select "I am experiencing a start up issue" on the right side, it will list one of the options as a "black screen". Select that and run through all the steps it provides.

If you're still having issues after running through those steps then I'm afraid a repair is going to be your next option. To set up a repair head over to our
Online Service Center and register your console.

Same here. It worked fine last night aside from some apps not wanting to work and then I try to turn it on today and nothing. It hits the green start up screen with the logo and then just goes black. I've tried everything I can find, I've tried resetting,
I've tried changing hdmi ports, I've tried turning on with different settings (holding the eject and power buttons). This is seriously pissing me off and I can afford to buy a new console or even fix this one. This thing is less than a year old and should
not be broken already.

I am haveing the same problem but I get to the main dash then it all just stops my controler won't connect nd it goes to no internet that it just set at main dash I don't have alot of money so I can't get a new xo or send it off for repairs if any one else
nos how to fix the problem if its something simple plz tell me how to fix it

After trying many, many different things, I took my Xbox to a Microsoft store. It could not be fixed. The good news is that it was still under warranty and they replaced it there. I did not have to wait the 3 - 5 weeks sending it in this way. The bad
news is getting all the games downloaded and installed again. Could have been worse.
