    Controller stopped working; tried everything, support not working


    My xbox one controller that I use wirelessly on PC with the adapter doesn't turn on. It works with the usb cable though. Tried everything to troubleshoot.

    I tried to replace it in two different pages.

    Here https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/controllers/controller-warranty when I put the serial number it keeps loading and nothing happens.

    Here https://support.microsoft.com/pt-br/devices it says it can't process right now and asks me to ask support. 7Yn2dT53oUytNfAQ.22

    Just did that. Thought it would work but it didn't.
    When connected with USB and the wireless adapter is on and connected, when you unplug the controller does it turn off or does it connect to the wireless adapter?

    If it turns off after unplugging it from USB you will need a new controller.

    Have you tried updating the controller's firmware in the Xbox Accessories app while connected with USB?

    Another cause when this happens is that the battery could be dead or won't hold a charge. Try new AA batteries.

    I've been having a similar issue where the controller de syncs with the wireless adapter seemingly at random during gameplay x-wing vs tie fighter and x-wing alliance to be exact. When this happens I have to reboot the system to get them to pair again.
    This only started after I upgraded to windows 10 1809. today was also a big patch day. Wired option works fine from what I can tell. So I think its a bug with the adapter. Using other usb ports make no difference, uninstalling/ reinstalling the drivers via
    device manager do not help sfc /scan comes up clean. I've already posted feedback via feedback hub I just wondered if anyonelse noticed this problem after 1809?

    That's frustrating for sure, I've been in your shoes before. How old is the controller? And have you tried what Chiefjoboo suggested and updated it via usb?
