    Controller smoking and overheating on charge


    Went to charge my controller last night, literally on had the cable in for seconds, smoke started coming out of the headset port and chat port, ive been on support and its out of warranty, anyone had any experience of this or knowledge of how to fix the
    issue?

    I was using the elite braided usb cable, official xbox charge pack on a official controller, out of 10 years of using the xbox ive never encountered anything like this, luckily i noticed before i fried everything.

    Yes the best you can do is not connect it any more to any console or PC, just in case...

    You need to replace the controller as soon as possible. That sounds like a very damaged controller.
